Knitting and Stitching Show 2014!!

30th October  – 2nd November 2014

The Knitting and Stitching Show, which takes place at the end of this month at the RDS in Dublin. Readers of this blog, will no doubt know about this pentumtamite textile event in Ireland, the annual pilrimage from all around the country, where thousands of stitching enthusiasts gather.

More than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the show, which will feature a unique combination of inspirational galleries, workshops and exhibitors selling everything from stunning fabrics, wools and threads, through to sewing machines, patterns and books.

The PicKnit

A new attraction will be The PicKnit, brought to Dublin by the UK Hand Knitting Association.Under the theme of ‘Knit One, Hook One and Pass it On’, visitors to The Picknit can learn, create and share their knitting and crochet skills with other visitors. There will be free one-to-one knitting and crochet tuition for beginners, and a chance for the more adventurous to experiment with some exciting new designs.

Learning Curve

The Learning Curve offers an extensive selection of workshops on a huge range of topics again, providing workshops ranging from Beginners’ Crochet to Embellishing Bed Linen to Sewing a Vintage Clutch Bag. Click here to download the full timetable of Learning Curve workshops.

1 hour workshop €11.00/£10.00
1.5 hour workshop €14.00/£13.00
2 hour workshop €20.00/£18.00

The Knitting & Stitching Show brings together a host of gallery exhibitions, showcasing the work of some of the leading names in textiles including Ann Small and Sue Walton, Jean Bennett, Jo Beattie as well as Irish groups such as The Irish Patchwork Society, Cork Textiles Network and much more

Advance tickets cost €14 for adults, with concession prices available on-line.
